Curious to know how the worm system works?
1. Once you have received your worm tower, take it out of the box.

2. Slide the drip tray underneath the stand and place the bottom tray (dripping tray is not included).

3. Place a layer of cardboard or newspaper on the bottom tray. You will only need to do this to start.

4. Place approximately 25% nitrogen (fruit and vegetable waste, coffee grounds) and 75 % carbon (shredded paper, napkins, paper plates, leaves, woodchips, small pieces of cardboard) and mix them together.

5. Helpful hint: add egg shells to help with PH, grit for the worms and to avoid white pot worms.

6. Place your worms in the center.

7. Leave undisturbed (they will find their way in) until food has been completely consumed! Make sure their bedding is not too wet or too dry! Use the same bedding that the worms arrive in. You can add premium bedding at any time after!
8. Helpful hint: the more surface area the food has, the faster it will break down.

9. Place the rest of the empty trays on top and cover them with the lid to keep them nice and dark

10. Add slightly composted organic food waste to the bottom tray once a week and monitor the conditions.

11. Once the food has been consumed, place the next tray on top with 25% organic waste and 75% carbon.

12. The worms will travel up to the next tray of food through the mesh wire.

13. Leave until the food has been consumed in the second tray.

14. The bottom tray should now be ready for use in your plants (you will see black castings or simply poop).

15. Screen it to be left with just castings and place the eggs and smaller worms back into the second tray.

16. The screened castings can now be used in your garden or on household plants as a top dressing or worm tea.

17. Place the empty tray and put it on top of the tower, and repeat the process all over again.
18. Note: It might take 3-4 months before your waste turns into castings!
